About Ivan
Ivan Yulaev is a hardware engineer employed at the Dini Group, La Jolla. He designs FPGA-based ASIC prototyping platforms and algorithm accelerators. Ivan is also involved with implementing digital logic in Xilinx and Altera FPGAs, particularly for in-system test and computational work.

Working under Professor Eric Fullerton at the Center for Magnetic Recording Research, Ivan has been involved in developing magnetic data storage elements for the next-generation STT-MRAM technology. His work has centered around simulation and understanding of nanoscale magnetic tunnel junctions and spin valves. Implementing current-driven magnetic storage elements in digital circuits is one of the few promising technologies for allowing Moore's law to continue to advance in spite of logic density and power dissipation limitations in moderm CMOS processes.

Ivan is recent graduate from the UCSD ECE Computer Engineering Program.

Github Mass-Push - 2012-05-07
Moved a few of my old projects over to github. It's quite the place to host your code. Aside from it's change-management functionality, github provides some great code review and project management tools. For running any projects, especially ones where team members are dispersed geographically, these sorts of tools are invaluable. Convincing people, particularly non-coders, to get up the learning curve can be a pain. The only thing I've found to work is better salesmanship (and possibly bribery).

AnyStop Update - 2012-03-15
For the last few months I'm been serving at the lead developer on the Android AnyStop Transit App. My task was to fix many usability bugs that we had uncovered over the last year or so, as well as adding new features in the ream of usability. As of today we have pushed a new, updated version of the app to the market, that addresses numerous customer complaints. It's been quite an experience - the learning curve for Android development was pretty steep. But it's always fun to learn a new API, toolset, and library collection.
